Folan will join Boro with a view to a permanent £2million move.
Tigers boss Phil Brown has not been impressed by Folan’s four appearances for the club this season.
“Caleb didn’t score in four games and he didn’t really look like scoring either,” said Brown.
“We always look to make decisions with a view to progress and as a result we’ve allowed Caleb to talk to Middlesbrough.”
