The 61-year-old was confirmed as the new Palmeiras boss on Sunday.
Scolari left Palmeiras in 2000 after spending three successful years at the club.
“It’s a great joy to return to a club where I have roots and where I won not only titles, but the affection and respect of managers, officials and fans,” Scolari told the club’s official website.
“I have never concealed my admiration for Palmeiras and I’m thrilled to be back in this home.
“I always made it very clear that my priority was to return to Palmeiras and the fans can be assured that we will be happy again.”
