Galaxy manager nixes Beckham loan

Dealing a second blow to Los Angeles Galaxy manager Alexi Lalas has turned down Real Madrid’s suggestion of a possible agreement to loan out David Beckham.

“We talk about David Beckham and sometimes we don’t mention enough that this is a human being,” Lalas told Sky Sports News. “His mental and physical rejuvenation is important and we can’t run him ragged with what his responsibilities are on and off the field. ”

The plan proposed by Real would have sent Beckham back to Madrid during the American off-season.

On Monday, the Galaxy brass rejected Real’s offer to buy back Beckham’s contract, a suggestion first put forward by Real Madrid’s president, Ramon Calderon.
