Schuster has been linked with a summer move to Real Madrid.
Torres said: “Madrid has not contacted me, nor has asked permission to speak with Bernd. I just ask for patience as Getafe is in the middle of an important period in a great season.
“I don’t know if he would be suitable for Madrid, but Schuster is a great coach and could direct any major club, including Real Madrid.
“We want Bernd to stay, but if he does leave we will be grateful for the two years we had with him. We will then seek to invent another great coach.”
