Huntelaar scored one goal in Ajax’s 5-2 win over Sparta on Sunday, but had to leave the pitch after 38 minutes.
“We don’t know anything about Huntelaar’s injury yet,” said Ajax manager Marco van Basten after the match. “We’ve to wait until tomorrow to see how his ankle reacts.”
“However, these kind of moments aren’t exactly nice. We’re already being plagued by injuries, so we can only hope that it’s nothing serious.”
