Manchester United and Newcastle United have placed Ajax teenager Abdellah Ouazane under observation as both clubs continue searching for Europe’s brightest emerging midfield talent.
Ontheminute.com understands that the Premier League rivals are keeping tabs on the 17-year-old. No formal approach is currently close, while Ajax have him tied to a contract running until June 2028.
Ouazane has already progressed from the Amsterdam club’s academy into senior football. The Morocco youth international made his first-team debut last season and strengthened his growing reputation by scoring against Heerenveen on Sunday.
Comfortable as an attacking or central midfielder, he offers technical quality, creativity and the ability to advance possession. Those attributes make him an attractive long-term target rather than an immediate guaranteed starter.
Ajax remain in control, but continued scouting from Old Trafford and St James’ Park could eventually develop into a serious battle for one of their fastest-rising prospects.
