“I want to stay at Milan,” he told Sky Sports Italia.
“I had my chances at the start of the season, but I was not good enough to make the most of them.”
Huntelaar has fallen behind the likes of Marco Borriello and Filippo Inzaghi in the pecking order at the San Siro.
“There will be time to recuperate and I’m sure I will have my opportunity too,” he concluded.
