The 29-year-old was spotted by fans outside the club.
The Norwegian striker said: “I wasn’t at the strip club. It’s a misunderstanding.
“I’d had the flu and was 100 per cent sure I wasn’t going to play.
“I had dinner in an Italian restaurant with a female friend. Then we went to a bar next door and it has the same entrance as this club.
“There were other people there and I had a Pepsi.”
