The Dutchman was pleased that the Nerazzurri managed to beat a’perfect’ side 2-1 on Wednesday.
“Chelsea are a very, very strong team. It is a perfect side, with perfect players like [Didier] Drogba and [Nicolas] Anelka,” the 25-year-old stated to Inter.it. “They played an incredible match.
“[Coach Jose] Mourinho had told us to play our own style of football, and to play our own game without any fear. This is the reason as to why we won this evening.
“Whether I am satisfied with the result, I do not know. That answer will come in 2-3 weeks, after the return leg at Stamford Bridge.
“We will be awaiting a different Chelsea. They will be playing at home, and things will be different. But we will be going to London with the faith that we can win.”
