Jo joined City from CSKA Moscow for £19million, but has failed to make an impact in the Premier League.
He explained: “Listen, I was playing for Brazil when I had just turned 20 and that’s not easy.
“I’ve had success in my own country and I moved to Russia when I was young and won things there with a good goals record.
“I have a lot of experience despite my age and have no questions about my ability.
“I’m a calm player with lots of confidence in myself.”
Jo added: “I know the project at City is just beginning. There is a lot of competition for places and I have to prove myself.
“If we sign more players in January it will be even harder but it will make us stronger.”
