Keane: Premiership is full of cheats, divers and conmen

Keane said: “I see lads I’ve played with dive and it drives me crazy, going down like they’ve been shot.

“I’m glad I’m not playing in the Premiership any more, I’d be pulling my hair out.

“Players rolling around and faking injury — you see it every week in the Premiership.

“Watch Match Of The Day and you’d see it. If I was their manager I’d be embarrassed because trying to get another player sent off is cheating.

“Players are conning each other and I’m glad I’m not playing — especially in the Premiership. We all know the players, I could tell you the high-profile ones but I wouldn’t give them the time of day.”

The Irishman added: “I’m on my high horse because I went and kicked a lot of players, but I’m on about conning the referee.

“Referees need to know the players, there are a lot out there who are trying to pull one over the referee by diving and chasing the referee.”
