Keegan: Premiership not as interesting now

Keegan told givemefootball.com: “It’s not as interesting now. Shaun Wright-Phillips was Manchester City’s best player. Then Chelsea sign him for £21million and they don’t even play him.

“The big clubs aren’t just building their own future, they are knocking everyone else’s down.

“I can see it for what it is now, a money-making machine, with everything geared towards the top clubs.

“There is more to life than football. It’s not the first time I have left it behind.

“I retired from playing when I was 33 and never went to another match for seven years. It just got stale.

“If you don’t enjoy it, if you don’t look forward to working with your players, then you have to get out.”
