Liverpool financial chief Philip Nash and commercial director Ian Ayre is in the Middle East to discuss a £400million deal with Al-Kharafi.
An Anfield insider told The Sun: “Talks are ongoing but there is real hope this could finally be the answer to all the club’s problems — on and off the pitch.”
Only three months ago Al-Kharafi was linked with a buy-out at Newcastle United, but negotiations over a £300million deal came to nothing.
