The Reds have signed Glen Johnson, Alberto Aquilani and Sotirios Kyrgiakos, while Xabi Alonso left the club for Real Madrid.
Aquilani is yet to feature for Liverpool due to an injury.
Kuyt told Sky Sports News: “I think we have two big signings. If you talk about Glen Johnson, last season he was one of the better players in the league.
“We have Aquilani as well. OK we have to wait a couple of weeks before he starts to play games, but with these two signings we have a great team.
“Xabi was a great player for Liverpool and had a great few seasons with the club. But in football, these things happen.
“Xabi wanted to go to Madrid, he had his transfer and at this stage you shake hands and say ‘goodbye’.”
