The Greece international is set to join Liverpool in a deal believed to be worth £1.5million.
“Last week I said I was an AEK player for the next four years and meant that,” he said on his official website.
“But then I received the biggest challenge of my career.
“I fully understand it came at the worst possible moment for the team, but the fact that I had the chance to play for Liverpool is a huge challenge.”
