Lescott hints at Man City exit

Lescott has been out of favour at Eastlands while Roberto Mancini has been in charge and could be forced to leave in order to his career back on track.

Lescott said: “Of course I’m not happy with the situation.

“I don’t enjoy sitting on the bench and sometimes not even making the bench, so I’m not happy with that. But I’ve never regretted my decision to come here. At the time Mark Hughes was in charge and I was playing every game. Even now, I still don’t regret it.

“It’s unfortunate I’m not playing as much as I’d like, but you just have to get on with it sometimes. The squad’s big and got a lot of quality so I knew it wasn’t going to be a foregone conclusion that I was going to start every game.

“You have to respect the manager’s decision and it’s warranted because Kolo and Vincent have been outstanding this season. But when I’ve got in I think I’ve done OK.

“January is down to me and the club. The club might say, ‘if there’s a chance to play, go and play’ and if not then I’ll have to stay here.”
