Johnson played more than an hour of Liverpool’s friendly defeat at Rangers on Tuesday night.
The England international has made just a late substitute appearances against Stoke so far this season, due to his injury problems.
“It was just fantastic to be back playing again,” Johnson told the club’s official website. “Obviously I’ve been a long time out and it’s been a hard few months for me but fingers crossed I’m over all that now.
“The last two injuries were pretty much on the same spot and it’s been difficult to try to stay positive. I want to push on from this and we all want to get three points against Norwich.”
Martin Kelly has filled in for Johnson at right-back.
“Martin has done really well as have all the lads since I’ve been out and hopefully that will continue,” added Johnson.
“We’ve got good competition in every position and it’s good for the club.”
