The Sunday Mirror reports that Hodgson is ready to make a new move for Figueroa after failing to sign Luke Young.
Figueora played for Honduras at the World Cup this summer and Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is keen to keep him at the club.
Stoke are also reportedly interested in the 27-year-old left-back.
