The Dutch striker said: “It may hurt to say it as a Liverpool player, but they are going to do it on merit. Today was really unbelievable, but it doesn’t alter the fact that they will be worthy champions.
“They have shown throughout the season that they are the best. They were lucky today, but if you’re going to be champions, you need a bit of that along the way.
“You have to admire their attacking flair, particularly Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo, who can turn a match in a split second. Henrik Larsson has been quality as well. In fact, you can pick out five or six who fit into that category.”
