The 36-year-old former Chelsea ace will become sporting director at the French club when he retires.
“I retire this year,” Makelele told As.
“I will work for Paris Saint Germain as their sporting director. I would like the club to be back at their best level.
“In June I will hang up my boots. I made the most of my life and it is younger players’ time.”
