The Sun reports that City boss Roberto Mancini is a big fan of the 32-year-old striker and is keen to bring him to Eastlands this summer.
City are reportedly ready to offer the Ivory Coast international a three-year contract worth around £18million.
The Blues have already signed David Silva, Jerome Boateng and Yaya Toure this summer.
