Man City star could join Spurs for free

The Sunday Mirror reports that City are desperate to ditch the Togo international striker, who they signed in a £25million deal from Arsenal two years ago.

Adebayor is not part of Roberto Mancini’s plans for the future at Eastlands and the club are keen to shed his £170,000-a-week wages.

But Spurs are reportedly keen on signing Adebayor on loan as they currently have a wage cap set at around £65,000-a-week.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said: “It in the hands of the chairman. I spoke to him some time ago about Adebayor and I would like to bring him to White Hart Lane if we can do a deal with City. But it would only be on loan.”
