The Argentina defender sustained a hamstring strain during the clash with Juventus in the Europa League on Thursday.
Zabaleta was taken off at half-time of the 1-1 draw at Eastlands.
“It is a hamstring,” Mancini said. “I do not believe it is serious but he won’t play on Sunday.”
