Man Utd boss free to communicate to his bench against Pompey

The FA confirmed he would not be barred from communicating with his staff from Pompey’s directors’ box.

Ferguson will also be free to deliver his pre-match team talks in the dressing-room as well as address his players at half-time.

Fergie said: “I have got the communication lines for the game in place. The only problem you have got is that Fratton Park is such a noisy ground.

“It’s one of these old stadiums – it’s a bit rickety, the stand, nowadays – and the directors’ box is towards the home end where all that noise comes from, with the drums and whatever the hell they have got going on at that place. But it’s a good racket and it’s a terrific football stadium.”
