United won the game 2-0 following a brace by youngster Darron Gibson int he first half.
“I thought we were a bit fortunate first half. We scored against the run of play,” he told Sky Sports.
“Tottenham, I thought, dominated the first 30 minutes of the match and could have been in front. They had three or four opportunities. Tomasz (Kuszczak) has made a good save down at his post from Defoe and we couldn’t get the game going.
“But after the goal we got better and in the second half we were much better.”
“We’re two games away from Wembley, which is good,” he added.
“We are in the semi-final. We will enjoy the semi-final and these lads will play again.”
