Man Utd defender keen on Newcastle stay

The 23-year-old is looking to extend his loan deal until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent deal.

He told the Newcastle Chronicle: “I’m loving it, and I don’t want it to end.

“It’s been a good first half of the season for me and the team, and to leave that would be a shame.

“I would be disappointed, but hopefully I’ll do enough to get a contract and get everything sorted out and kick start my career.

“The fans are unbelievable, and if I can stay here for the next few years, I would be buzzing.”

He added: “I’m just taking it day by day.

“Stuff’s being sorted out, but I’m just concentrating on the games.

“Around the training ground, day in day out, you have to think about it.

“It’s on your mind, but once you’re on the pitch and playing, you want to win, and you forget about it.

“It does play on your mind, but, at the end of the day, you’re a professional, and you’ve got to put it out of your mind.

“Hopefully, you’re thinking ‘it’ll happen, but at the same time, it might not’.”
