Manchester United are lining up a summer move for AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, sidelining plans to make Sofyan Amrabat’s loan move permanent.

Despite the initial €10m cost and an option for an additional €20m for Amrabat, his performance has not lived up to expectations at Old Trafford.

With the rise of young talent Kobbie Mainoo, Amrabat’s time with United, marked by just 19 appearances, seems to be drawing to a close.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United’s new investor, is eyeing Reijnders as a prime replacement, according to Football Transfers.

Despite Milan’s €60m valuation of the Dutch midfielder, United is ready to negotiate, viewing Reijnders as a more cost-effective option than other targets, including Barcelona’s Frenkie De Jong.

PSG’s interest complicates the pursuit, but United remains committed to reshaping its midfield with Reijnders at the helm.
