Rooney got a warning from the FA about his comment that suggested that ref Martin Atkinson was biased.
Rooney told The Sun: “To be honest, I’ve looked back and I probably shouldn’t have said it.
“But I was disappointed at the end of the game and felt we’d deserved more.
“Your emotions are high at the end.
“I felt we didn’t get the decisions but that’s the way it goes.
“There have been games when we have got the decisions when we shouldn’t have.
“As a team, it was probably the best performance we’ve had this season but a disappointing result.”
