Marquez has been linked with a move away from Catalonia in recent months.
He said: “I am happy to continue at Barcelona. My intention was to continue and the manager has asked me to do so.
“I believe that, after two seasons of obtaining nothing, we are under pressure. Of course, as a player, one has to pledge to obtain the titles that want to be obtained.
“So it is a challenge for me, I am one of the veterans at Barcelona and I want to return to my level – to be able to play to my maximum – and to be an important part of the team.”
