Spanish sourced says Merida has agreed terms with Atletico and will join them in the summer.
Merida agreed terms on a new deal with Arsenal earlier this year, but the 19-year-old failed to sign his contract.
Merida has now reportedly agreed a five-year contract with Atletico Madrid.
