Mutu’s agent Giovanni Becali claims AC Milan’s decision to keep Klaas-Jan Huntelaar at the club, ruined the move.
Mutu is currently under investigation for failing a doping test.
“Adrian was very close to joining Milan in the course of the last session of the transfer market,” Becali told the Romanian press as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.com.
“I was the one to propose the move to the Milan directors. If they had managed to send Huntelaar elsewhere then there was every chance Mutu would have transferred to Milan.”
