The Magpies have not spent a penny of the money they banked from Carroll’s move.
Pardew said: “We want to attract one or two big players, and bring on one or two youngsters as well.
“A performance like that will give the owner belief as well, that we’re doing things in the right way.
“If I was the owner, I’d think my investment was a bit more secure.”
