Pardew spoke with his team fifth in the league on the last day of the season, but with a chance still to finish third.
“You could say we’re in a situation not too dissimilar to Arsenal’s,” Pardew said. “If they finish fifth I don’t think Robin van Persie will be signing another contract at the Emirates.”
