O’Neill said: “It sounds crazy to be letting players go when we’ve got the smallest squad in the Premiership.
“But Peter hadn’t really been in contention, and Eric certainly hadn’t been.
“And, from that aspect, we’re weakening but we’re hoping to be able to do something about it.”
