The Croatian was on a free transfer after leaving Bayern Munich at the expiry of his contract there.
“I am happy with my choice and happy to have arrived because Sporting is a great club and has a beautiful stadium”, said the Croatian.
“I want to have a great season”, he added.
“I have always dreamed of playing in Portugal.”
