Swansea v Everton

Key Battle: The Swans will hope to get back to winning ways here and will look to Michu to display more of his superb goalscoring form, but he will find it tough against Marouane Fellaini.

Player to Watch: Nikica Jelavic is fast becoming one of the most prolific forwards in the Premier League and Swansea must be wary.

Talking Point: This will be a real test of Swansea’s talents against a skilful and technical side who can cause them problems.

Chelsea v Stoke

Key Battle: Dean Whitehead will be deployed to use his combative force to close down and make life difficult for Eden Hazard.

Player to Watch: Juan Mata has not started the last two games for Chelsea but you feel he has something in him when he does play.

Talking Point: Chelsea saw their 100% record brought to an end by QPR but can they pick up again where they left off last month against Newcastle?

Southampton v Aston Villa

Key Battle: Rickie Lambert can cause Villa problems if he is able to get the better of Ciaran Clark in the visitors’ defence.

Player to Watch: Adam Lallana is one of the better players in this Southampton team and will be determined to help them win their first point of the season.

Talking Point: Southampton need to start getting points on the board and fast, can they start here against Villa?

West Brom v Reading

Key Battle: Pavel Pobrebnyak will be the man Reading look to cause problems to a well drilled West Brom backline marshalled by Gareth Macauley.

Player to Watch: James Morrison has the ability to run a game and score from almost any angle, and Reading will have to be careful of him here.

Talking Point: Reading are already in danger of being cast adrift if they can’t ‘get a run of form going, and need to start picking up points.

West Ham v Sunderland

Key Battle: Kevin Nolan up against Lee Cattermole will be one of the weekend’s more combustible clashes in midfield.

Player to Watch: Steven Fletcher has made a superb start to life at the Stadium of Light and will look to continue that here.

Talking Point: Two physical long ball teams meet at Upton Park – which will come out on top?

Wigan v Fulham

Key Battle: Dimitar Berbatov will hope to continue where he left off against West Brom last weekend, but Gary Caldwell will be keeping him in close attention throughout.

Player to Watch: Franco di Santo is the key dangerman in the Wigan side and if he is given chances Wigan could punish Fulham.

Talking Point: Two organised possession based sides meet in what should be an entertaining encounter.

Liverpool v Man Utd

Key Battle: Joe Allen and Michael Carrick are both key cogs in their respective teams, making them tick with their precise passing in midfield.

Player to Watch: Robin van Persie scored twice here last season for Arsenal, can he repeat the trick for his new team?

Talking Point: All the attention will be on off field matters after the recent Hillsborough revelations, will that have an impact on the way the players approach this game?

Newcastle v Norwich

Key Battle: Norwich are looking better defensively with new signing Sebastien Bassong but he will have his work cut out to deny his former club and Papiss Cisse in particular

Player to Watch: Papiss Cisse has not scored all season for Newcastle – surely that run can’t last much longer?

Talking Point: Norwich have looked more solid of late and are unbeaten in three – can they continue that form here?

Man City v Arsenal

Key Battle: David Silva and Santi Cazorla should star in what promises to be a battle of the Spanish playmakers at the Etihad.

Player to Watch: Carlos Tevez is the man who can make something happen on his own, and in a tight game that could prove the difference.

Talking Point: Two teams who will get the ball down and pass it – but both have tight defences too.

Tottenham v QPR

Key Battle: Gareth Bale will hope to tear into Jose Bosingwa and get back to his best form in a Tottenham shirt after a quiet start to the season.

Player to Watch: Jermaine Defoe is on fire and will want to ensure that his fine run of form continues on Sunday.

Talking point: Tottenham looked much better against Reading last weekend – can that continue against Mark Hughes’ men?
