The new deal will keep the former Tranmere Rovers defender at Rugby Park until the summer of 2015.
Pursehouse said: “We’ve been discussing a new deal for a while so it’s nice to finally get it all agreed.
“I’ve been injured but I’m fit again and I’ve got my contract sorted out so I can look forward to my football now.
“I spoke to the gaffer and the chairman and we came to a deal which I was delighted to sign.
“The gaffer has had a big impact on my career, it’s nice to have a manager who believes in you. I enjoy working with him and he’s done a lot for me.
“Three-year deals don’t come along very often so getting that security at a good SPL club was a big factor.”
