Cannavaro’s contract will expire at the end of the season.

“Just the simple fact that he is playing at this level, despite his age, speaks volumes. He is a great professional in every respect. He is a positive influence both on the pitch and in the locker room.”
Cannavaro has been linked with a return to his hometown club Napoli in recent months.
