Calderon told Reforma: “It was an unfortunate choice. The fans are not very happy due to some of our disappointing performances.
“Capello had to deal with a club that had won nothing for three years and that was ever going to be easy, but we were unlucky.”
He added on Capello’s successor: “We spoke to Schuster right from when I was only running for the Presidency, but we are keeping an eye on Rafa Benitez and Jose Mourinho.”
