With Tottenham struggling to qualify for next season’s Champions League, Redknapp doesn’t believe this is the key to bringing in new players, but that money is the big factor.
“People will come here anyway, they’ll see we were in the Champions League and want to get into it again. Listen, if you pay them the wages they’ll come. We kid ourselves but if you say: ‘There’s £80,000 a week,’ they’ll come. If you don’t they’ll go somewhere else they can get it. That’s football.”
