Redknapp fears new injuries

Jonathan Woodgate limped out of the goalless draw with Manchester United at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

“We picked up injuries again tonight,” Redknapp told Setanta Sports. “I know every manager says they have injuries, but we are not overloaded (with players).

“We have lost two centre halves who are going to be out and I have no cover at centre half. The two who played tonight are all we have.

“We are short, we have too many games. We have the Uefa Cup game which if I am honest I could do without, then we go to Newcastle. We then play Burnley twice and we have a lot of games and it is all about how many injuries we get.”

Redknapp added: “I think it was a fair result, it was a good point for us.

“It was difficult, we lost Ledley before the game and to lose Jonathan Woodgate early in the game meant a reshuffle. The lads showed great character.

“We did great, Michael Dawson has come in and turned in a fantastic performance. Corluka alongside him has done well. I think they all played their part. Any result against Man Utd is a good result.”
