The Dutch winger is eager to beat Liverpool in the Champions League clash on Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“I have a lot of desire to beat Liverpool,” he said in a interview with Spanish sports daily, AS. “They are a very strong side but when I was Chelsea, I did not like playing against them.
“I prefer to play Manchester United or Arsenal, because Liverpool are not a team who know how to play good football. They are very physical, they work and run a lot and they are tactically very well prepared.”
He continued: “Madrid are now in the best form of the season, but we must be relaxed as there’s already too much talk of this game.
“I don’t think it will be a problem to play the return leg at Anfield because a lot will depend on the first leg. It is imperative to win here [at the Bernabeu] and avoid conceding any goals so that we don’t suffer there.”
