Tuttosport reports that Roma are looking to strengthen their defence as John Arne Riise could leave the club this summer.
Balzaretti has developed into a key player for Palermo since joining the club from Fiorentina in the summer of 2008.
The 29-year-old’s current contract at Palermo is set to expire in the summer of 2013.
