Reports claim Kazan made a £4.5million bid for the South African midfielder in the January transfer window.
“On the interest of our club in Pienaar, I said this back in November,” Kazan coach Kurban Berdiyev told Sport.
“He is a good footballer, but to negotiate, agree and to make an offer to get the player, are very different things.”
