Mark Hughes welcomed the signing of the 30 year old who had a good World Cup and will prover invaluable should Paul Konchesky complete his move to Liverpool.
Hughes told the club’s official website: “Carlos is a versatile defender who can play in a number of positions, so he gives us a number of options defensively.
