Sampdoria put €20m price tag on Cassano

The Blucerchiati have made a perfect start to the season, with four wins fromt he first four fixtures.

Cassano has been linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Juventus and Inter.

“Antonio is player who gives us great emotions every Sunday,” Marotta declared on the Campionato dei Campioni program.

“What he does on the pitch is fantastic, and we are so thankful to have him.

“When he arrived on a free transfer from Real Madrid, we could afford him in the economy at the time.

“There have been some requests for him lately. I know that [the Inter president Massimo] Moratti is very interested in him, but there has never been any negotiations.

“Antonio has a buyout clause of around €20 million, so if a club were to be interested and were willing to pay this amount, then he can leave Genoa.

“Following that, we will be forced to pay Real Madrid around €5 million for compensation.”
