The 24-year-old joined the Rossoneri on loan from Arsenal last summer.
“I had a tough start to the season because of my injury problems,” he admitted on the Milan Channel.
“But I worked very hard and I was able to give my full contribution during the second half of the campaign when the boss decided to give me an opportunity.
“I would like to stay at Milan because I like it here, but I know that the decision isn’t mine to make.”
