Sheffield Wednesday and Leyton Orient are competing for Charlton Athletic striker Isaac Olaofe, with both exploring a summer loan deal.
Sports talent manager Darren Witcoop reports that Wednesday have enquired about the 26-year-old.
Orient are also targeting attacking depth following Dom Ballard’s move to Bristol City.Charlton are expected to approve another temporary departure after Olaofe spent last season with Stockport County.
A Scottish club is also monitoring the situation, adding further competition before the window closes.
The forward built his reputation at Stockport, scoring 30 goals in 103 appearances. His standout campaign arrived in 2023-24, when 20 league goals helped the Hatters win the League Two title.
Wednesday have already strengthened their attack with Mason Burstow and Harry Gray, but remain open to another addition. Orient, meanwhile, need to replace goals and are assessing several options.
Olaofe’s pace, movement and proven lower-league record make him an appealing target for both clubs. Regular starts could ultimately determine his next destination.
