Sherwood says Tevez could stay at United but must shut his mouth if he wants to stay.
“Carlos Tevez is an excellent footballer, who is having a huge impact on Manchester United’s run-in, but the Argentine really needs to keep his mouth shut,” Sherwood told Setanta Sports’ Friday Football Show.
“He is playing for the best team in the world and to go anywhere from Manchester United is to take a downward step in his career.
“United clearly want him, but they want to arrange the fee to suit their means. That means playing a bit of hardball. It happens all the time.
“If Tevez stays quiet, and his agent stays quiet, something will get sorted out.”
