The Mirror reports that Aston Villa will make a £4million loss when Sidwell joins the Hammers for around £1million.
The 28-year-old could leave Villa on a free next summer when his contract expires.
Sidwell has made 67 apperances for Villa since joining the club in a £5million deal from Chelsea in the summer of 2008.
